Getting your business noticed
what is brand photography?
Brand photography consists of custom images that help businesses create strong visual identities for their marketing. This includes your product photos, team, portraits, social media images, blog pictures, and any visuals you use in print or online
Brand photography and why it’s so important
As business owners, we know the importance of presenting ourselves in the best light and the best way to do this is with compelling images of your business You've got it! Brand photography is all about creating a unique visual identity that truly represents your company. While stock photos can be useful, their disadvantage is that many other companies can use the same images and they often lack the personal touch and distinctiveness that bespoke images provide. A professional brand photographer can help you craft a collection of images that align perfectly with your brand's style, settings, and colours, making a lasting impression on your potential clients.
Where do you start
Creating a brief is indeed a crucial first step for a successful brand photoshoot. Here's a quick summary of what to include in your brief.
Firstly, it's important to define the subject of your photo shoot and whether this will be for your website, brochures, social media etc.
Are you shooting a new product or will it be headshots for your company webpage, each area requires unique preparation for example
New headshots of your staff, things to consider are preparing the area where the shoot is going to take place
plus consulting with your staff regarding being suitably dressed and giving them sufficient notice for the day of the shoot.
The next thing to consider is how you would like your staff to pose for example
formal, informal, or fun. Other examples are photos of your office, in the scenario, you will need to prepare your office so it looks tidy and no personal information is visible.
Product shoots will the item be a stand-alone product with a blank background or would it require props in the background to set the right mood, and then the style you want to convey will it be professional, contemporary, informal, dark and moody, light and bright etc. Once you have a clear idea then the conversation you have with your brand
photographer will be much easier and they will be able to put you at your ease and fine-tune the shoot. This way you will be very pleased with the results
